Special Announcement, updated November 25th, 2020: Post and Auxiliary members, families, friends, and neighbors, as you know, in March we shut down VFW Post 392 due to the severe implications of COVID-19, suspending all food service and activities until we received permission to reopen from the Governor and VFW.

Effective September 10th, Hampton Roads entered Phase III of reopening with the rest of VA. We remain in this phase at this time, as amended by Governor Northam on November 16th. To see the current version of the order, click here. The Post has resumed normal business with limited conditions, noted below. We will continue to comply with the seating and building capacity limits (250 people max) and 'gathering limits (25 people) as noted in the guidelines found by clicking here.

Wearing a facemask and social distancing are MANDATORY in accordance with VDH Guidelines.

Our operating hours have returned to:

Monday through Thursday: 1100-2200

Friday: 1100-2200

Saturday: 1100-2200

Sunday: 1100-2200 (NASCAR™ races and NFL games scheduled during this time frame will be shown on the big screens)

Our next Post Business Meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 1st, 2020, @1900 Hours.

All new members that have not been sworn in are invited to attend and complete the VFW induction ritual.

Since we are in Phase III of reopening as of July 1st, this will be an open meeting for the Post membership.

You may also attend the meeting virtually via the GoToMeeting platform. To request a meeting invitation, send an e-mail with your name and VFW membership number to webmaster@vfw392.org.

THIS IS OUR POST AND IT'S A BUSY POST!

We need your help and support. We cannot provide the support we do to our Veterans, our families, and our community without your help!

We always need volunteers to help with events, and members to patronize the Canteen. To those who repeatedly assist with Post functions, we thank you all. For those that seldom visit or assist, we cannot stress enough that we need more members to participate in Post activities and events. Please join us at these wonderful events, including not only the special events each month, but patronizing and supporting your Post Canteen. Whether for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Friday Night Live Entertainment, Picnics, Holidays, weekend or other sporting events, we're always open for all our members and their families and guests. Don't forget, the large and small meeting rooms are also available to rent for special events! We can only support others if we support ourselves first.

Please support your Post through volunteering your time! We can certainly use all the support we can get. Every hour spent and mile driven benefits our vets and counts towards our annual reporting, so make sure that you're documenting and reporting to the Post any time spent supporting Post or Veteran activities.

Televised Sports at POST 392

Pretty much any televised sporting events, including professional baseball, football, hockey, golf, and college sports are also broadcast on the Post televisions when in season. We do have the NFL 'Sunday Ticket', and all games are shown. Come cheer on your favorite teams!!

Remember, improved Wi-Fi is available at the Post, so if you want to bring your tablet, laptop, or other wireless device to track race stats live, please feel free to do so. Connect to VFW392-1 5G for the best signal. The password is available at the canteen. You can call or visit the Post for further information.

Christmas Dinner

Friday, December 25th, 2020

1200-1700

VFW Post 392 will hold our annual traditional Christmas Dinner from Noon-5:00 PM on Christmas Day. Our menu consists of turkey, ham, the traditional Christmas vegetables and sides, cranberry sauce, and dessert. This meal is provided free of charge to our members, guests, and the community. This is an all-volunteer operation that requires personnel to support the cooking, serving, and cleaning operations for this meal. Please volunteer to support this effort!!

To support this meal, we ask for donations of turkeys (no larger than 16 lbs), pre-cooked hams, and canned goods to be served during the meal. We also separately solicit canned goods for the Thanksgiving Baskets we provide to needy veteran families at this time of year. Please join us and be as generous as you can.
